Lost to Selwyn
It's the taking part that counts. An interesting row up in which the boat only really came together in the single start and piece the boat had ever done set the crew in high spirits for the off.
Unfortunately off the start, before which our bank party impressively got us a head start using one, yes one, cup cake, the boat almost immediately had an encounter with the bank. Not letting this unsettle us the boat quickly picked up speed and many cries of 'yeee-haaa' later we had gained half a length.
Lady luck then decided to lend the other boat a helping hand when 5's seat fell off, this meant 6 had to drop out as well. Then, despite 6's heroic efforts to put the other crew off by means of a water pistol, they came past us to win.
The boat didn't get dispirited and decided what we really wanted was another start and piece to help us on the way to all those unused bribes.
